It’s pretty simple, no real guns, no real/live steel or bladed weapons, nothing pokey or stabby, no projectile weapons of any kind may be carried around the convention area (including public areas of the hotel where guest who are not aware of our event may become concerned). ALL weapons, including large staffs, Keyblades, etc… must be checked and peace-bonded at the Information Desk located across from Registration.
If it imperative to your costume for hallway Cosplay and generals photos etc… we suggest you locate a plastic or resin version. If you are using toy gun please make sure that it has a visible orange tip, even if you modify it to fit a costume it MUST have a visible orange tip.
If you have a sword for your costume during the Cosplay contest or the Costume contest, you may carry it with you only during the contest for which you are registered. You will not be allowed to carry it except for your ‘performance.’ You may unsheathe it to pose on stage. You may NOT brandish it about on stage as part of your Cosplay skit. Over-Sized Props
If you have a large prop such as a Boomerang, Gun Cross, Large Blade, or really cool, but kinda big Wings, please keep it in your vehicle or hotel room until either your Cosplay or Costume contest time. Large props, including costume elements such as wings will NOT be allowed in the Dealers Room or crowded hallways.
Any AFO Staff member may ask you to remove any prop for any reason such as, but not limited to, posing a safety issue or creating traffic tie-ups in hallways.
