Name: Jean-Luc Carver
Age: 19
Gender: male
Occupation: pirate
Guild: the players guild
Bio:
Jean-Luc grew up on the streets till he was 12, using his higher intelligence and observation skills to get by through gambling on games of strategy most commonly chess. Since this more often than not got Jean into trouble he also got into pretty good shape and learned to fight. When Jean turned 12 he was old enough to join the crew of a transport ship where he worked for a year until, when he was 13, the ship was raided and he decided to join the pirate crew that was attacking. He quickly made a name on the ship as a fighter and a strategist. As time went on he slowly got a group who either owed him money or who's respect he had earned.
after 3 years Jean decided to break away from his current crew and start his own ship, so in the middle of the night on his 16Th birthday Jean and his small circle snuck away and stole an older cargo ship. On an adrenalin high from the capture, Jean was disappointed by the lack of speed or handling so he decided to try to steal 2 ships in one night. Well that didn't quite work out for him and he ended up captured by the OSDF. When he was captured they asked his name and Jean, deciding he needed something clever, said Checkmate Carver. Well the slow desk jockey who was up at the middle of the night screwed up and put Checkmate Carter.
After being in lock up for a few days Jean was able to talk his way out of jail on promises he wouldn't do it again, it was stupid, and he was just a kid who didn't know any better. Once he got out of jail though, he preceded to steal a smaller faster ship that handled a lot better. Taking it to a mechanic that had a reputation for doing side jobs Jean had the ship painted back, sleeked up, and the word Bishop painted on the side in red paint. He also had a red flag with a black bishop emblazoned across the middle made for his ship. Three years later Checkmate Carter has made quite a name for himself both to the authorities and to the underground community.
