The Gypsy City, Saul.

Avalon ignored the women until a low static sound was coming from the heavy block of metal. Content with the work, Avalon smiled at herself and offered it to the women.
"I don't know what a stone mage is but apparently it's what I am. My name is Avalon Pheonix, and I believe your heap of trash works again."

Morrigan took the SatCom and turned it over in amazement. She had never seen anything like this power. "Miss Phoenix, please, join me for breakfast." She, again, offered her a seat. "What brings you to Saul?"

Why was she here? She wasn't sure herself. She came seeking a job, in order for a person to live they needed clothes, food and shelter. In order to have those you needed money, Saul provided all that, or at least she hoped.
"I came here for the same reason anyone comes to a town, for work. I need money, a place to stay, food and clothes. Why else would someone be here?" Avalon started at the women with her unblinking black eyes evaluating ever fiber of the person siting in front of her.

Carter let her leave knowing that she would be easy to find once she got her ship back. Instead he turned his attention to skye. "I have heard a lot of rumors about your new sense of purpose." He said pushing the chair towards her with his foot. "I think I might be able to help you a bit." He said with an almost evil grin that was obscured by shadows.

She glanced sharply over at Leo wishing that for once he would just let her do her own thing. "I doubt I'll see him before you do, but if i do, I'll tell him your message." she told him quickly before she took the seat and stared directly into Carter's eyes. "And how, sir, did you come to learn so much about me?" she questioned reaching towards the chess board and fiddled with a few of the pieces, mainly the king side knight and the queen, she seemed almost captured by the queen and mainly twisted it causing the gem to catch the light.

"I assure you I will not get another chance to talk to him. I also must thank you for leaving the guild and keeping me out of what ever it is your doing or else I might have had second thoughts and found myself unable to do my current job. As it stands I have nothing to regret about disappearing from you all. I wish you good luck and happiness in your new life and if you still go to Orlandia, remember to Mind the Edge."

With that Leo entered a rift walk, vanishing before Skye could say a rebuttal. He was finally ready to fulfill his destiny and he didn't need to hear anything to deter that. Leo went to the the original tree of the forest and laid a hand on it "It's been so I thought I could escape destiny. We both did I guess but our pasts have caught up, even after the long slumber..... I'm sorry old friend but as a class S god, you must go to rest. I'm surprised that a tree that gained enough power to be classified as a god at all would require a Zerosen to put them down but then any other method would force you to destroy the surface world to survive."

A tremor went throughout the forest making many birds take off at once. Leo chuckled to himself "So the collective minds that make up your being can be divided. Those that support the order's decision and thous that want to survive at all cost. Prepare yourself well. You'll be fighting yourself and a Zerosen as soon as I've assured the safety of thous in Saul."

A roar that resonated throughout the forest, making it's origin completely untraceable, rendered all of the forest silent, if only for but a moment. "Glad your waking up. I'd hate to leave anything unfinished old friend. Let's end the destiny of transcendence so that it's never needed again."

(Note that when Leo says god, he does not mean a traditional god. The forest is powerful but not that powerful. )

Bulletin

One of the Vanguard was confronted and defeated by an unclassified spirit that there are no records of. While the Vanguard member survived he is in bad condition. Until the new spirit is countered, all those staying in Saul are not to leave the town limits alone or unarmed. Also outgoing travels will be guided by the Vanguard for free until the situation is stabilized. The incoming fee still applies. Your cooperation during this problem appreciated.

Also, all experienced fighters or healers looking for work, please talk to the Vanguard leader, Mardekai. Ask any resident for directions.
(I reserve control of Mardekai so please don't try to montage that conversation. )

"You would be surprised how much changes in the day to day goings of the guilds, especially a member such as yourself leaving would draw attention." Carter said watching skye eye the chess piece. "What it comes down to is how much of what i've heard is true and how much is immagination."

[Hotaru]

(huh...looks like something fun is about to happen) There were rumors going around the town, none of them good. Hotaru could hear snippets of them as she walked through the crowd. One of the Vanguard had been hurt.The bonfire dance had ended abruptly when a loud roar had come from the neighboring forest, scaring those in attendence. Figuring then was a good time as any to leave, Hotaru had gathered her wares and the money she had made and left for an inn. Walking along, Hotaru couldn't help wonder if the rumors were true. She had heard of the Vanguard, as well as of their strength, and it almost seemed impossible to her that one of them had actually been injured. If that were true, then what exactly was in the forest that could actually do that? Lost amongst her thoughts, Hotaru didn't notice the inn door until she had walked into it. "Ouch." she said, hoping no one had actually seen that. Rubbing her nose, Hotaru walked into the inn, she spotted the woman who had been with Skye in the forest, as well a new woman. Looking at them, Hotaru couldn't help but feel as if they looked like contrasts of each other, one having a hyper almost chaotic feel, the other one giving off a steady, calm energy. It intrigued her, and for a second made her forget about the rumors that had been going around. Walking over to the table, Hotaru gave a small but graceful bow to the two ladies. "Hello. My names Hotaru. I don't believe we were properly introduced before."

(Oh right,I forgot to make clear that the members of the Vanguard are all ace fighters so one of them being seriously hurt is a big deal in Saul. I did mention in the opening that they are fighters that implement magic in their combat though. Also, any post that starts with "Bulletin" from now on is a public announcement, usually made fallowing the previous event. Bulletin's will be spread by word and will be posted on the town board for those to see.)

"Well..." she said lifting the queen twisting it between her fingers, "I guess it depends on what you have heard then doesn't it?" she questioned glancing from the queen to look at Carter, strumming the table top with her finger nails.

"Well starting with what I already know, you have a hatred for pirates, you just left your guild, and you were once a gypsy." He said. "Now here is where we have to determine fact from fiction. One rumor is you plan to overthrow the whole of orlandia, but lets face it that is not even close to the mark. Another side says you are looking to start your own guild, which is reasonable, but the purpose of that guild is unknown." He finished eyeing her intently.

Avalon jumped at the sound of another person's voice.
"Uh hello Hotaru, I'm Avalon, please to meet you." Avalon stared with curiosity at the women in front of her. This was the most human interaction she's had in years.
She turned back to Morrigan and posed her question again.

[skysu]

She chuckled lightly. "Then You should understand that I dont much care for you, or the treatment you give to my friend." She responded slowly lowering the queen. "I do plan on starting a guild, but its purpose isn't much of your buisness is it." she responded. "And you know it would be silly to try to take over Orlandia." she told him with a smile.

Leo stepped up to the table Hotaru and Avalon where at from seemingly nowhere and said "To obtain the power of a god or maybe just to vanish without a trace. Their are many reasons to go anywhere. It's not so much where you go but why that matters. Well, as for becoming a god, That won't last. Nothing is eternal, and anything that seeks to become immortal will be destroyed. Soon the spirits of this forest will depart, what happens to Saul after? Only time will tell. An interesting game of chess will be starting soon and I need players in Saul to make sure things go smoothly. Any of you interested?
